I Will Wait

Too often I looked far and too beyond,
whatever near there was,
I did not know.
So let me look back far
and not too close,
to see the present
with its pleasures and delights,
and let me tie a close and loving bond.

And where a whisper was
in hidden trees,
I always loved to see a smiling face.
Hear stories of a golden past,
see pictures of a silent place.
Far voices told me to create the day,
in lonely distance with a cheerful spell,
besides all lasting worries I can tell
that I will wait for decent live and lasting peace.

Hi Gert I love your poetic sentiments in this beautiful poem. Patience is a very special quality to have in this life, especially in a age where instint gratification is so easy to get. When it comes to waiting for that special person to come into our lives the wait is worth it. Thanks for sharing your inspiring thoughts! Love Light Truth Patricia

Patience is one of the greatest virtues, Gert. Often we have to "wait" for that special person or moment that casts a "Cheerful spell." Lot of wisdom here! Great work. Love, Carolyn

Poised poem. It's time thought to look farther before you to create a blessed future...similar to walking away from Gamoura. Wishing you all the best.
