I Will See You Again
I see shadows of your presence,
But I know you are not there.
I hear a noise and turn to see you,
All I do is stare.
Grieving is difficult when I am alone.
It's hard to believe that God has called you home.
I remember your smile and every single tear.
I remember all your hurts and pain, and would pull you in so near.
You are my special sweetheart, no matter what others say. I said I would smack them and make them walk away.
You are my life and love, I will never let you go.
So the shadows that I see serve to let me know,
I will see you again.
I see you in the hallway and next to me at night,
I see you in the mirror and I long to hold you tight.
I see the things that defined you everywhere I go, thinking, when I get there in my heart I do know,
I will see you again.
Time has never healed a heart broken or torn.
Pain and sorrow only serve to mock and to scorn.
My ointment and salve is the truth that I know...
I will see you again...
