I Will Rise

I will rise...

Wacked & blown away in history,
With ploys impish & lies
Sunk deep in muck, mines and lands dirty
I will I promise from the dust, rise

Did you want my spirit all broke
Lowered head & crying eyes
Dropping shoulders & face wet with soak
I will I promise from the dust, rise

Like the stars & the moon
As sure as the incoming tide,
With no hopes that will swoon
I will I promise from the dust, rise

From all shame , I will rise,
From the past ,I will rise,
From the darkness, I will rise,
Into the daylight, I will rise.
Bringing gifts I have attained
I will rise,
Once more
I will rise.
