I Will Judge Hat Day
My craziest hat must have a parrot of red
And a parakeet which I plan to name Fred
They must be immobile, maybe even dead.
And it must have a monarch on back of my head.
There must be orchids, roses, dragon lilies too.
Constructed of pinks, purples, greens and blue.
It must be something fun I can match with my shoe.
The one on my right foot that is jazzy; I call her Sue.
As mayor of this little berg I will have an official hat day.
Everyone will wear a competing hat, and the children will all play.
The men make themselves scarce, for the women will all want a say.
I will make myself the guest judge, on every single Crazy Hat Day.
