I Will Follow You
I will shoulder the load.
Lay your burdens on me.
And we’ll walk down the road
Out of history.
Here, I offer my hand.
You can take up the lead.
‘Cross this bone-weary land.
I know we’ll succeed.
If you ask me to
I will follow you.
That’s all you have to do
And I will follow you.
Let’s not let it be said,
There’s no will, thus no way.
We can’t lie down in bed
And just waste the day.
We’ve got to get up and go
Though the going be rough.
We can make it, I know.
Together we are tough.
If you ask me to
I will follow you.
That’s all you have to do
And I will follow you.
I will alter my course
If it’s not on your chart.
I will search out the source
Maybe find your heart.
Yes, it’s easy to say
But I swear I’ll be true.
You can test it this way
Let me follow you…
If you ask me to
I will follow you.
That’s all you have to do
And I will follow you
