I Went Out Running

I went out running the other evening
It was still light as I was leaving
But soon the darkness came along
I headed back but I got it wrong
This wasn’t the same route that I took
I stopped and turned around to look
I didn’t recognize the street
Did not know where to point my feet
I must have turned left when I should have gone right
I was lost in my hometown and it was now night
I wondered around what once was my town
Till I finally found where I started this round
My friends got a laugh and then they told my boss
They all thought I had a memory loss
Just because I got confused this one time
They all seem to think I am losing my mind
I know I’m OK but what do you think
I now have to meet with the hospital shrink

This recently happened to my brother in law who is too young for this to be happening to him.
