I Watched

More than you know
I watched you grow
Watched you turn into 
The monster that is within you

I saw you cry
I watched your compassion die
I watched you get a little old
as your heart grew more cold

I saw your innocent smile
Turn into the ways of desire
I heard your dying screams
When life turned you mean
