Lost and alone, I fell on my knees Left all my pride Replaced it with humility Humble and contrite, I cried For the One who knows me Fills my heart with light And He came down From His home on high Left His royal throne To fill my heart with love He came down And I was lifted high Above the sins and sadness Into glorious gladness Lost and alone, I couldn’t struggle on When He came into my heart Filled me up with joy and hope Struck my soul with reverence Delight that glowed deep within Relieving sorrows and ridding me of sin He came down And I was lifted high Above the sins and sadness Into glorious gladness He came down And I was lifted high I was lifted high I was lifted high

Dear Gina, you have written such an inspiring and graceful poem. All of your poems, I find, graceful and solemn - lifting up our spirits. Thank you and glad to know you enjoyed the translation - I have done and posted a few more translations from Tagore - the links are all in my bio. Most of them are about women empowerment. Love and hugs ~ Mala

This song should be an inspiration for all. Because we discarded God and so died ourselves. But God's love will lift us up again if we want.
