I Want to Write a Poem

I want to write a poem
but my mind is not in motion,
it's been appropriated by the babble
of the television rabble 
who tell us what to think
and that our own ideas stink

trust us they say
come what may
we'll take care of you

and we won't see it coming
when they drop the other shoe
