I WANT TO KNOW MY SELF

I WANT TO KNOW MY SELF SITTING IN THE DARK IS LIKE THERE IS NO TOMORROW TOMORROW; HOW IS IT LIKE? I WIPE MY TEARS WITH MY BLEEDING HANDS THE DARK BROUGHT ME COMFORT TO EASE THE PAINS OF MY EVER FAILING HEART WALKING A THOUSAND MILES TO KNOW MY PLACE OF BIRTH THE PLACE THAT GREETED ME EVERY RISING SUN WITH FRESH PALM WINE AFTER A LONG NIGHT OF TERRIFYING PICTURES HOW I WISH I NEVER TOOK THIS PATH HOW I WISH I KNEW MY SELF TO TELL THE SELF OF MY SELF I TOOK A LOOK INTO THE RIVER AND I SAW A FACE I DON’T KNOW IS THAT ANOTHER FACE OF THE FACES I ONCE KNEW? PASSING MY HANDS THROUGH THE RIVER TO FEEL THE FACE THAT BROUGHT VANITY AND HOPELESS DREAMS WHERE DOES THE WORLD END BECAUSE I AM TIRED OF TRYING AND FAILING WHEN YOU SEE MY MOTHER TELL HER I DIED TRYING
