I Want To Be
I want to be Tony, Samuel, Mickey, Marlin and Jack.
With the self-confidence of Izzy, who wears pride on her back.
I want to walk with my chest puffed out, not prissy, but fine.
I want to strut and stroll down the fine peacock line.
I want to hold my head up so high from my puffed up head
That the neighbors all back away, their hearts filling with dread.
With the self-assurance of a male lion in African’s savanna.
I want to exude the confidence of the sweetest ripe banana.
Put me in a banana split, cover me with whipped cream and ices.
Feed me to the men in the pool hall who are rolling money dices.
Say great things as you gulp me up, singing praises about my sweet.
For my confidence will be so great; I will be a delicious tasty treat!
