I Want It Darker

There was a dim light
But I want it darker still
A fading… alike into ever night
Just so I wouldn’t see but feel

I draw comfort from that dark
To barely see… to only hear
The beating of one’s heart
To be afraid of and no more to fear

I let the dark envelop what I see
The last of light… I watch diminish
Did I feel what I cannot be?
My seen life… did I relish?

I wanted to go in deeper
And perhaps I did just that
I did not want to leave sooner
In an encompassing dark… I am glad

It was a fading into the night
But wasn’t dark enough still
Dimmer becomes the fading light
Just so to nevermore see, I’ll feel

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
