I Wandered So Lonely

I wandered so lonely beneath the stars
Lamenting my wayward pathways chosen
Feeling abject sadness of unhealed scars
Thus, fearing a dreaded self-implosion,
With thoughts of emotional erosion,
Knowing what is past cannot be undone
I shall feel renewed with the rising sun
Pinpoints of star light bathe my inner soul
Such a stroll ensures a victory won
When the morning returns, I shall be whole.

L Milton Hankins July 3, 2022 at 8:29 AM I think the dawn really does symbolize renewal, although I rarely experience it. I am a night person, so I sleep in until 9 or 10 every morning. I have been all my life, and I think it has something to do with body rhythms.
