I Walk Alone Among the Horde

I walk alone among the horde
In the universe city of all sorts
Mermaids and gorillas and elves

These once beautifully masked
Only lure the heart to be drown
In spiritual cacophony of bar beach

Those ugly bibliophiles impassive
Engrossed in their forest of leaflets
Broke off branches of intimacy

Strange beings from outer space
Bloated with wealth, status, belief
Cannot mingle with common man

A creeping trend has estranged
Our vital humanity of which I can
Only walk alone among the horde.
