I walk
I walked upon the broad highway,
Bound for darkness, far astray;
Lost in sin, without a guide,
With guilt and shame I could not hide.
But Jesus saw me where I stood,
And rescued me through His precious blood;
He called my name, He set me free,
And broke sin's chains that burdened me.
He made me new, a brand-new man,
Redeemed according to His plan;
The old was gone, the new had come,
Through Christ the victory was won.
He showed His love so rich and true,
By giving all He had for you;
Though death was once my rightful due,
Eternal life He freely drew.
Where sin abounded day by day,
His grace came flooding all the way;
Much more abundant, strong and bright,
It led me from the darkest night.
Now Christ lives in this heart of mine,
His Spirit in my soul does shine;
A new creation, born again,
Forever free from sin's domain.
So I will shout throughout the land,
And tell of Jesus' mighty hand;
His wondrous love, beyond all measure,
His grace and mercy, priceless treasure.
For all who thirst, for all who call,
His saving love is meant for all;
Come taste and see His mercy's flood,
And find new life through Jesus' blood.
