I Walk

I walk amidst all these people Contemplating in thought I stare I walk entranced, my mind so rapt As if I were not even there Across crowds of so many Of all colors, of all faces The Western, the Eastern Personalities in all races I see the thin and fat I see the short and tall In shapes and sizes Beauty varies in all Some stroll with smiles Of the old and blue Others in peevish laughter Of youth and hue Dressed in diverse styles, Some dim, some flare I walk by women in beauty veiled And others that walk half-bare In some I see despair In others I find insight Some, I just walk by With not much visible to sight I walk amidst all these people Each one to life a strand I walk in thought, in masses And I simply don’t understand

There's not much to understand, Farah, it's just that people are different from each other, that's all. Regards, Fred. (P.S. Next time you watch people go by again and you see a good-looking man, that would be me!!! LOL)

Observation. The way to secretly judge yet not to hurt those who oppose your eyes and mind. What you see, you understand, yet what you are seeing, seems not to make sense at all. Beautiful, I do the same once and awhile. "Beauty varies in all" Indeed my friend, it surely does. Love the rhyming.

I like the silent observation, I picture someone walking through the crowds and observing so many habits, customs, each person with their own unique life story, their own mysteries in their heart. Nice depth and imagery.

This is an interesting write Farah. Yes, people will confuse you, that's for sure. Never dull though to watch, as Kristin writes. Sometimes disturbing, that's for sure. I prefer the country and nature to people watching. : ) Love, Shar
