I Wait

i wait for the voice of regret to stop
-it doesn't
i wait for the argument to stop having an affect on me
- it wont
i wait for the person to stop yelling at me
-he cant
i wait for the slamming of doors to stop ringing in my ears
-it keeps going
i wait for footstep to follow me in
-they never come
i wait for words of comfort to flow
-it never happens
i wait for friends and family to make me feel better
-I'm alone
