I Used To Spend a Lot of Time On My Own

I used to spend a lot of time on my own

I used to spend 
a lot of
time on my own 

When I needed some 
personal time alone

And after all of the years 
that have come and gone 

I have learned that I 
would 
rather be with someone

That would be
around me
most of the time

That could be my very best 
friend 
and my loyal companion

Instead of having to spend
another 
waking moment being alone
in the silence of my own room
