I Understand
When you left
I thought it was for the best,
But now I (am) not so for certain.
Understanding each other was
A struggle
Because we were so not the same.
(two cloudsmensnowflakes rarely are)
But I thought love might rise above
And it couldn’t.
And I wept.
Yet now I understand
You have your own wants and dreams,
As do I,
So you had to go and realize what life
Had left out for you to find
Be it love, success, or happiness elsewhere.
I hope you can realize
That I love you
And I understand.
