I Tried
Born ashamed and raised in doubt
Life unleashed and let fear out
I tried to tuck it underneath
I stood up, against my grief
With all of my might
I fought the fight
A lot of time, spent on my knees
Crying, confessing, begging, please
Help me, Lord, to find my way
Let me thrive on this next day
Change me Lord, I know you can
Instead of crawling, help me stand
I see the blessings, he bestows
My faith, a door, I will not close
But hope for a life, more than a chore
Has disappeared. It exists no more
