I Tied My Balloons To a Basket
I tied my balloons to a basket,
a dozen pastels reach for the blue sky,
a getaway dream in which I want to fly.
Life is heavy on Earth with all of its woes,
weighs me down like an upside down smile,
want the freedom to to be a zephyr for a while.
Up and up the basket climbs to the cottony clouds,
euphoria is my partner in the lofty celestial flight,
from below a field of deep pink tulips wave so bright.
By early morning the sun is peeking through the blinds,
a balloon floats near my head in the cozy bed,
a souvenir from my dream is all that is said.
