I Thought of You Today

My dear I hardly know you
But this much I can say
As I sat here all alone
I thought of you today
I wondered what you’re doing
Or if you thought of me
Did she get my letter?
I guess we’ll wait and see
One thing we have in common
One thing I know for sure
We both are in a terrible place
That we somehow must endure
But if we stand together
It will get us through this mess
So dear please remember
This is just a little test
Let’s take this new found friendship
And make it tried and true
So if you ever need me
I’ll be there for you
I know this poem’s a little corny
But I have one thing left to say
I just want you to know my dear
I thought of you today
