I Think of You

From the moment I awake With every single breath I take With every vital beat of my heart And every moment we’re apart In every single thing I do; Eating my lunch or lacing my shoe Shaving my chin or combing my hair Rushing headlong here and there Writing a letter or reading a book Washing up or trying to cook Singing along when the crooner sings Taking apart or mending things Watching a movie on TV Settling down with a cup of tea Being busy or enjoying my rest Just doing things that I enjoy best Laying in my bed at night Even when I turn out the light The thing I mostly ever do Is think and think and think of you! Author's Note:I wrote this poem over forty years ago when I was still at school. Naturally, I had a particular girl in mind at the time! :-)
