I Think It's Safe

The lights look like grains of sand from way up here. It’s incredible to think about how small we are. As we soar thousands of feet in the air with no fear, This night, a child may think we’re a shooting star. It’s so peaceful being up here with the others, A group of strangers traveling with such trust. In this small space, we are at ease with one another, Each of us knowing that some faith is a must. Though, at times, I look at the cities below, There is a woman up here who catches my eye. As she sleeps, her breathing is so very slow. I can’t help but feel safe with her so nearby. She seems oblivious to the world outside, Not worried at all about our possible plight. She’s in her own little world on this ride. This is no doubt not her first, nor her last, flight.
