I Thank You For Friends and Loved Ones
I Thank You For Friends and Loved Ones
“I tell you, use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings.” Luke 16:9 NIV
I thank you for friends and loved ones;
The most valued gifts I see—
Amongst all the world offers,
I give thanks on bended knee.
I thank you for friends and loved ones
For their presence gives great joy;
‘Cause they are my treasures,
Unlike earthly possessions – just toys!
I thank you for friends and loved ones;
Their words of encouragement ring,
Through the ears that you gave me
To write the songs we sing.
I thank you for friends and loved ones,
Their hugs and touch so sweet;
I listen to their voices
When to praise You we do meet.
I thank you for friends and loved ones
A life in vain would be,
Without the joy they spread
On this proverbial sea.
I thank you for friends and loved ones
Who seek to fill my needs;
Who welcome the gifts you gave me;
Blooming flowers spring from those seeds.
I thank you for friends and loved ones
Who’ve crossed my path of life;
Helped me through my heartaches;
Given encouragement through strife.
I thank you for friends and loved ones
For without them You only know,
The difficulty of traveling,
This life on earth below.
I thank you for friends and loved ones
May each one in heaven be.
May our hearts be joined forever;
Our souls with You set free.
I thank you for friends and loved ones;
For the love that they do share;
A small taste of heaven,
I give thanks through You they care.
