I Thank God You Are My Friend

I Thank God You Are My Friend

I thank God you are my friend
For without Him we would not have met
He orchestrated everything
Never a cause for regret
For God knows what He’s doing
More than I can say for me
He knows I need friends like you
I’m glad that you agree

I thank God you are my friend
To me you are very precious
Our friendship runs deep
Of this I’m very conscious
You always give me good advice
Although I don’t always heed it
You never get upset with me
In this friendship we commit

I thank God you are my friend
Because you are very loyal
Never discuss my business
Don’t indulge in babble
Always call when you don’t hear
No matter what the reason
You’re a friend I want for life
Not just a summer season

I thank God you are my friend
For you led me to His love
Without you I’d never have known
His miracle healing from above
I just love that we can share Him
Not like folk out in the street
You are such a special person
God intended me to meet.
