I Tell You
I Tell You
I tell you that I love you,
with every breath I take,
and care for you with every beat
of my weak heart.
I fear death, for one day I shall cease
to breath and the breathing of my heart
shall halt,
and I shall go away from you and I will stop loving thee,
and I do not want to stop,
God as my witness,
Lord, I do not want to stop loving you.
I love you with all my heart,
from the soil of earth,
to the golden gates of heaven and beyond,
I love thee, and all that you have to offer.
But if Death should strike me down, before
I finish this poem,
let me tell you one last time,
that you mean everything to me,
you are my heart and soul
and the air that I breathe,
I love you, and I cannot stop loving you.
