I Still Need You

When do you ever stop being their child Or needing them along the way A grown woman I am now Yet, I still need you to this day When I’m sad I still need you To talk through my pain To hear you say those reassuring words “It will all be ok” once again When I’m stressed I still need you Your advice and support To guide me in the right direction With my confused worried thoughts When I am happy I still need you To share in my elation Just to have a cuppa together Full of laughter and conversation When I am unwell I still need you To hold your small soft hand The pure comfort that gave me No other ever can I still need you in every way That will never be replaced by another I will need you til my dying day For I will always be your child and you my mother

Another lovely tribute to your dear Mum, Writing poems about your deep love and respect for her will bring you closer to her in mind and spirit. A beautiful poem, as usual, Deb. Take care. Shirley. XX
