I Still Believe

i put a yoke around my neck and gave you the key i tied shackles on my feet and gave you the chain i loaded a gun and taught you how to shoot to my surprise you did shoot took all the innocence i had and as if that wasn't bad took my hope as well all those thoughts of goodness were just in my head the fake smiles that made my day you turned my world once blue to gray and that's all i had, you took my faith but i still believe that something about you is true and deep that beyond that ugly mask you care for something even if that something isn't me
