I Stand In the Night

Dark and dreary
No one in site
Lonesome and weary
I stand in the night

Watching and waiting
For dawn to come
My heart pulsating
No more humdrum

Walked for hour’s
To see this view
Through the rain showers
Sun nearly breaking through

The breath of God
Then hit’s me in the face
As if hit by a lightning rod
I’m floating into space

The sun now rises
In awe I stand
No more surprises
I await God’s command
