I Stand In Awe

Lord, I stand in awe of earth’s creation
With valleys so deep and mountains so high
I see tapestries of green and fish floating in streams
And, birds flying high in pretty blue skies

I wonder at how geese flock in V-like formation
Following the same destination year after year
Returning in spring to the same location

I marvel at how bears hibernate in winter
Not eating any berries or fawn
They come out in springtime fatter than ever before
Then eating everything in sight from dusk til’ dawn

I meditate on your Holy word
At how creatures came to Noah’s ark two by two
From birds to bears all in pairs
Safe from flood as if Noah told them to

I feel your presence in earth’s creation
A splendid array of differing elements
All assembled for your adoration
Despite man’s pollution and destitution
Earth remains your greatest creation
