I Spoke of Love

I spoke of love one summer’s day
           when words of love came out to play

I sighed, for how sweet it would be
              to have my sweet walk next to me

to feel the warmth of morning sun
        and know the warmth of hearts as one

I whispered of the life we’d live
              the kind of life that love could give

I knew this dream was more than need
             an urgent dream meant to succeed

If only I could find the heart
                    that only my love could impart

I spoke of love one summer’s day
           when words of love came out to play

I looked into the sky, so blue
                      as I looked up and I saw you
