I Sit In Darkness
"As I sit in darkness,
My mind is supposed to work less
As I have come to the end of my day,
To reminisce on all that went my way
Or not,
Forgot
Those moments that were bad,
I need no dreams to be sad
Instead my mind is racing,
My heart more than beating
Wondering if I did enough today,
To make something better than yesterday
Like me or them,
Or any one of my friends
Could I have done more,
To improve any score
Of the points we earn in life,
That bring gratitude to feel right
God said love thy neighbor,
So love can be as simple as a favor
Or as complex as his son on the cross,
His love etched on our hearts, embossed
So I accept me,
With all my frailties
And remind myself I did my best,
Thank you lord now I can rest"
