I Set You Free

My broken heart
Shattered without a care
The damage you did
Could never be repaired

I held my head high
So no one would see
The agony and pain
deep within me

I smiled when I saw you
Pride became a game
In my mind the memories
Were replaying frame by frame

Image after image
Of you loving me
Holding my hand
Or touching my cheek

So quiet was the night
When darkness surrounded me
Hours and hours all alone
Then finally...... I set you free
