I Said Goodbye

Clearly everything you said to get me to come back,
Was just an award winning performance,
An Oscar winning act.

You claim that you love me,
I wish that was true.
Don't realize love doesn't treat people the way you do.

I fell for your lies and broken promises once again, lately my brain has been a little out of whack.
 Then like the snake you are, you came slithering right back.

You claim that sex isn't the only thing on your mind,
There's other things you think about.
You act like a toddler,
You throw a tantrum if you go without.

You can tell everyone it's all my fault that we aren't together anymore,
Tell them I gave up and ran like you did before.
Don't forget to tell them why,
Tell them you pushed me out the door.

Don't forget to tell them how you treated me,
Make sure that they know that I have spent the past few months,
Begging, pleading, and crying.

You can tell them everything you say I did,
There's no need to lie.
Just be honest about what you have done.
Tell them about having multiple chance to fix it,
You wouldn't get it together so I said said goodbye.

You could have changed my mind if wanted to. 
You wouldn't treat me right and that parts on you.
So many promises you made to get me give you chance number 3.
I should've known better that one is on me.

You guilt tripped me and manipulated me, 
I can't believe I couldn't see.
I have learned my worth now and there's no doubt.
I am not going to fight with you,
I don't want to shout.

You have shown me in so many ways that you don't care what you put me thru.
How can you say you love me when you don't believe anything I say to you.
I shouldn't have to prove anything to you after all that you have done.
It was always me that was the loyal and faithful one.

I don't want to hear your apologies or your fake promises anymore,
It was you that caused me to walk out the door.
I'm done with your emotional abuse and I am not going to cry.
I hate that it has come to this and I have to say goodbye.
