I Rock
They all see me, as just a rock
Just lying on the sand
A simple shape of elements
Though complexed inside I am
I was made before they were
A million years or more
And I'll remain long after
They stop coming to this shore
The sea has round my edges
I've grown smoother after time
And boys and men, both through me
As I skip upon the brine
Perhaps one day, someone might see
And in their heart will grant
A smooth round rock, just like me
A place beneath their plant
