I Remember Gill

We worked together on a project,
New guidance updated each day,
The guidance became our bible,
Especially it’s Annexe A.
Throughout the work we did together,
We discussed progress every day,
And if we weren’t quite sure what we ought to do,
We referred then to annexe A.
I changed my job and we lost touch,
Meant to keep in contact some way,
But the next time I heard of her at all,
Was a sad and and depressing day.
I discovered that she’d had cancer,
A week earlier passed away,
I quickly rearranged my diary,
To the funeral went next day.
While in the packed church I was quiet,
people had lovely things to say,
I’m reminded of Gill when I read new regs,
When they include an annexe A!
