I Really Lived

12:09 AM

   I remember in the beginning
 When it was new.
I would give you some of me
 For some of you.

   There was too much chaos
 Not enough splendor.
   I believed you were real,
 You’re a pretender.

Did you think I would not notice?
The lies you gave me to drink?
I tasted them in your kiss,
 More than you would think.

   I have your betrayal pumping
 In my vein.
   My mind wraps around it,
 Welcomes the pain.

   Your kiss the bitter flavor
 Of a loved that died.
   Your double life, the lies,
 Cover what you hide.

   The irony of love,
 And it's a certain fate.
There was once so much love,
 Now, I only hate.

   The first time ever,
 You filled my soul.
   All that remains is a
 Big black hole.

   For ten years I rose,
 Above from below.
   It was your love that
 Brought the warm glow.

   Betrayal, deceit and a
 Million little lies.
   I can't believe it never
 Showed in your eyes.

   I'm fried, I have nothing
 Left to give.
   Time spent with you,
The only time I really lived.
