I Read Stories

I read mysteries
and found casualties,
I read the mysteries of casualties
-why are the flawless hooked with the claws of fantasies?

I read stories
and found fantasies ,
I read the stories of fantasies
- Why are the poor lost in the city of ecstasies?

I read the world
and found a golden cord,
I read the world in God’s word
-why are the righteous craving for the rugged rod?

I read the perfect pages
and found seven sages,
I read the perfect pages of seven sages
-Why are the white knight turned hostages?

Again, this isn't a villanelle. What it is though is a very good vers libre piece. there seems to be a suggestion of Japanese form in this giving the narrative a real delicate feel. I like the structure of the stanzas; very inventive use of repitition. A really beautiful poem.
