I Never Take a Bath
I never ever take a bath;
The thought is quite revolting.
If somebody suggested one,
My answer would be jolting.
For soaking in some stagnant water
Seems to me repulsive;
But don’t conclude I’m dirty –
‘Bout my showers I’m compulsive.
I know that many find a soak
Quite soothing and relaxing.
Why, there are poets who find baths
Worth wondrous words of waxing!
Yet I am not a fan at all
And bubbles won’t entice me.
A steaming, streaming shower spigot
Seems to paradise me.
I’ll never ever take a bath
If it is in my power,
But I can write a paean
To the glories of a shower!
