I Never Complained
It's OK if you want to leave
I wouldn't trust me
I've always got something up my sleeve
My movements are shifty
Blink once and you missed me
How can you fight what you can't see
Put here for a purpose
I make people nervous
By exposing your lies and your deceit
Humankind is in season
Most treacherous treason
I'm in this cage for a reason
Every day is the same
In this cage that remains
Though it hurts like hell
It's much better this way
Cause the pain that I feel
Keeps the "free" people sane
Just know that I never complained
When you locked me away
You paint a picture that's perfect
A web of lies but you work it
I'll give you credit where it is due
But you're treading on thin ice
This false front that you call your life
One wrong step and you'll be through
I wish I could see it
That moment you eat s**t
And you lose all your dreams
I know it won't be long
And all you have will be gone
I've reserved your cage right next to me
Every day is the same
In this cage that remains
Though it hurts like hell
It's much better this way
Cause the pain that I feel
Keeps the "free" people sane
Just know that I never complained
When you locked me away
(This is a song that I wrote my old band Crimes Against Humanity in 1997.
