I Needed You Too
Everytime I gave you my all
But you weren’t there when I took a fall
When I would tell you how much I care
I needed you, but you weren’t there
When I would go out of my way for you
It was because you needed me, but I needed you too
When I needed to be at my happy place
You’d say I’m taking up too much of your space
When I would always comfort you
It was because you needed me, but I needed you too
When things in your life were really tough
When everything just seemed too much
I’d say the right things and I’d really come through
Because you needed me, though I needed you too
When no one understood you or even cared
I’d find new ways to always be there
I wasn’t just a girlfriend, a supporter and comforter too
I needed you too, but instead I was there for you
When you couldn’t say how you feel about me
I’d never fail to be the best girlfriend I could be
Yes I often needed you, but you always failed to see
That I needed you just like you needed me
When how bad your day was you would tell
I listened, but you didn’t ask did my day go well
I listened, because you needed me to
Forgetting that I needed you
When you wouldn't care
The next day I’d still be there
Sometimes I’d shout “Can’t he just see”
“Just how much he is hurting me”
Sometimes I needed you to show me just a little love
A small gesture to me would be enough
But if it wasn’t about you
You simply forgot that I needed you too
I couldn’t fight so hard no more
And so I had to close this door
When you look back on everything and wonder what to do
Just remember when you needed me, I often needed you too
