I Need To Pray I Really Need To Pray

I Need To Pray...

Someone came to me in a moment of despair.
Quite discouraged, he asked for some prayer.
I didn't feel like praying this particular day.
The way things were going...
I didn't want to pray.

There once was a time in life,
I felt God' s awesome power.
But lately, my spiritual life
has been going sour.
Praying for someone is what a Christian's
“supposed to do.”
But I haven't been living the way Christ wants me to.

I had accepted and rejected
God's unfailing grace.
By allowing things into my life,
Jesus was no longer in 1st place.
If I pray for anyone, it really should be me.
The bondages need to be broken—
I need to be free!

As I focus on Christ and give him
all of my attention.
My prayer life will then be
in the right direction. To you, Lord Jesus,
cleanse my life throughout.
Praying to YOU is what being your child is all about!
