I NEED A FORTY

I need a forty
Not dollars nor cents
Forty years to receive
The message God sent
Forty years for the Hebrews
To step up to the plate
Forty years of waiting
For their lack of faith

Forty days to cleanse
My heart, my soul and my mind
Forty years to discover
The wonder of God's kind

I need a forty
Be it seconds, minutes or hours
Forty seconds
To see the glory of God's power
Forty minutes or less
For the pastor to deliver the gospel
Forty eight hours to see God
Do the impossible

Forty days to cleanse
My heart, my soul and my mind
Forty years to discover
The wonder of God's kind

I need a forty
No not ounces of beer
Forty days of Lent
For my mind to get clear
Forty days of fasting
Like Jesus the Christ
Forty days of purification
To realign my life

Forty days to cleanse
My heart, my soul and my mind
Forty years to discover
The wonder of God's kind

Forty days and nights of
The Great Rain fall
Forty days preparing
To give God my all

Forty days to cleanse
My heart, my soul and my mind
Forty years to discover
The wonder of God's kind
