I Must Live

There are times I feel I can’t go on
Times I feel I’m beyond time
Despite my frustration I have
And despite how the world is to me
I must live
I wonder just how much my past
Has over me
How my upbringing affects me today
My restraints
Setbacks
My short comings
Nonetheless, I must live

When things seems as if they’re never ok
When no matter how hard you try to push it your way
I need to see what life holds for me
I must live to see
I must live to see
To parent my offspring
I must live
To see what the future brings
I must live
Even though the coin tossed the other way
I must live
I must live
I must live

Do we give 2nd thought to why we are here?
Or do we give in to our fears?
So many things I realize I don’t know
Reason enough to live or let go?
I don’t have the world to give
But, I must… live

Part of me lives in all I do
It would be selfish to not share the fruits
The liberties giving from blood shed
My ancestor years ago bled
I must live for the years to come
I must live, I must live, I must live
