I miss: Roaming in forested lands with a child Walking at least a mile Thrills of adventure as to what we will see Unwind, relax and just be I miss Life without so much fatigue Being able to fulfill my needs Then time for a change of pace Removing stress indeed I miss Going shopping being carefree On a day when life is plain Maybe find a treasure in a book Somewhere catch a fast train I miss My youth, life with change, feeling alive Being able to write Letting it flow from pen with ease Then my soul would take flight

Awwn this is so touching dear sara, how you miss your youth and so much more and being able to freely be youv expressed all that so seamlessly. I especially felt as you wrote how you miss the times when fatigue was nowhere in sight. And how you miss going shopping etc; that’s so poignant and soulful! Sigh! Made me feel so much! Sending you light always, congratulations on your win

Thanks for dropping by with congratulations on my placing in the contest. Yes, IE, I especially miss my ability to do so much that needs to be done around here. God has a plan and I am trying to follow, but I surely don't know where He is leading now. I know in my heart that He will not lead me wrong. Sara K

Hi Sara, a charming and sweet nostalgic poem. Aging has its grace, and challenges. With my arthritic knees I'm very stiff when I go to stand up. Feeling more like a grandma every day in a positive way. Happy weekend and blessings :)

Dear Sara, Life has so many memories that fulfill us in so many ways, and then we feel the loss of time, health, and family and friends. Your poem brings tears to my eyes, and we search God for a brighter tomorrow and help to develop new passions while giving us the opportunity to reexperience the old passions and not be just a memory. I truly loved reading your poem!! - Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

Yes, Daniel, it is strange that I want to remember or do remember totally different things from my husband but we both have memories. I have accepted the fact I am older and can no longer do what I once did, but I still desire from time to time to enjoy those things I once enjoyed. Sara K

Amen, Sister Sara. This resonates 1,000% with me. Over the past year, I have become almost completely home-bound --- imprisoned, if you like --- while my wife is still (relatively) young and mobile. It ain't easy, McGee...

Gershon, I am sorry that you no longer can be out. I am still out once or twice a week at times. I used to enjoy being out in nature. I could just have a spiritual moment with sunrise or sunset when out and about. Probably others would be rushing inside and out getting to some destination and I would be in the moment enjoying what I was seeing. Sara K
