I Met You Today

I met you today
Memory you will erase
I stayed positive

I could feel your pain
You did not want to let go
Our paths must part now

The tears were hidden
until I was left alone
I miss you dearly

Sense cannot be made
Of the circumstances that be
Fate dealt a cruel hand

I had just met you
But our friendship ran too deep
Then you said to me

We shall never again speak.
