I Met a Book

I met a book the other day
I stopped to listen to what he had to say
He was slow to speak at the start
But it don't take long to steal my heart

He spoke of beauty and of love
Of earth and wind and miracles from above
Showed me how to stop and think
And gave me the fountain of youth to drink

We talked and talked and laughed and cried
And finally sighed our last goodbye
I promised I'd stop by again one day
And listen to what book had to say
