I Marvel

Each breath I take, I marvel
Yet one more day of pain
A wounded heart now broken
And only pieces still remain

A distant wind still echoes
The memories from the past
Forever haunted, I stand alone
How much longer can this last?

My soul is now an empty shell
It's hollow, to the core
You left this world before your time
Your spirit, made to soar

I've numbered all my sorrows
With every tear I've cried
I bless the day that you were born
And curse, the day you died

Your name has become my heartache
Each time I hear it spoken
It cripples me from the inside out
And leaves me weak and broken

And tho I walk this world alone
You will not leave my side
You'll always be my one true love
My one, and only bride

Such a moving poem, Larry. I've written some like this for my late husband. However, I really stopped by to let you know that today is Mother-in-Law Day (according to Andrea's blog). I was sure you'd want to do something special for your mother-in-law to celebrate this occasion. LOL Love, Carolyn
