I Made a Deal With the Devil
I made a deal with the devil.
I asked for the beauty I once had
And promised my soul in return.
I don’t even believe in such things
But I’ll take the chance
That I’m wrong and I’ll burn.
I squandered away my beauty
With laziness and food,
Deciding nothing else mattered
Except numbing my current mood.
Now I can’t look in the mirror
Because I hate what stares back.
I don’t care about a soul,
it’s already turning black.
I don’t know if anyone heard me
Or how I would close the deal
But desperation is a strange thing
That could just make the devil real.
